🃏 The Stability Test

Same numbers, different colored cards. Merge sort keeps every color in its original left-to-right order whenever numbers tie. Quick sort makes no such promise — identical numbers can come out in a completely different color order than they went in.

🧊 Merge SortWhen two cards tie, I always take the one from the LEFT run first. That single rule is the entire reason I never scramble same-numbered cards.
🎲 Quick SortI swap cards by position to build the partition, with no regard for which arrived first. Same numbers can and will land in a different color order.
